Brandon Woodhouse runs B&H Junk Removal in Golden Valley, and same-day junk removal is the call he gets when a pile has to leave and nobody wants to plan around it. He prices it from a photo. The pile goes in his pickup truck with a trailer and off the property, anywhere in Mohave County. Text a photo to (559) 479-1199. What sets this call apart from a garage cleanout or an estate job is that the pile is already made. Nothing needs sorting first, and one photo usually shows the whole job.

Most of these calls come from a homeowner who just emptied a room and wants the pile off the driveway, or from a manager with a unit that has to look clean before the next tenant walks it. Brandon answers the phone himself, so the man pricing the job is the one loading it. When the whole thing is one chair or one box spring by the door, a single item pickup is the smaller version of the same call. He will say what he can fit in when he answers.

The price is one number for the whole job, and it starts at the $250 minimum. Hours run Monday to Saturday, 7 to 5, with Sunday closed, so a Sunday pile waits for Monday. Nothing has to be dragged to the curb first. He walks in and gets it, back bedroom or upstairs hallway. A wide shot of the pile tells him more than a close-up of one item.

What goes on the truck

  • a mattress and box spring
  • bagged trash from the kitchen
  • broken shelves and particleboard
  • boxes from a closet purge
  • an old recliner
  • a disconnected fridge or washer

What ends up in a same-day pile

The pile on this kind of call is usually stacked already. A couch that got replaced, the mattress leaning in the hallway, bagged trash from a kitchen clear-out, a couple of broken shelves, and whatever came out of the hall closet. Most of the time it is one load, and that is what separates it from a cleanout: the deciding is done before Brandon pulls up. He is not opening boxes or asking what stays. The people who call are the ones who ran out of room to keep it sitting there. One is a homeowner who wants the garage back. Another is a landlord in an empty unit with the last tenant's dresser still against the wall.

How Brandon gets a stacked pile out

Brandon backs the pickup truck with a trailer as close to the pile as the driveway allows, then loads it by hand from there. Stairs are part of the job on this one. A couch out of a second-floor apartment comes down the stairwell, and he looks at the turn on the landing before he lifts anything. Narrow side gates and an alley behind a rental both work; they just mean a longer carry.

On a tenant turnover or a commercial unit, he will set the access up with the manager, so a gate gets unlocked or a door gets propped before he arrives. If the unit is full rather than piled, that is a rental property cleanout instead. He does the loading himself, so there is nobody else to brief on the way in.

What a same-day pickup costs

One number covers the whole job, and it starts at the $250 minimum. Brandon looks at the photo and gives that number before he drives out. The minimum is where it starts, and it is the only dollar figure on the job. The quote itself costs nothing. Text a photo to (559) 479-1199. If the pile is bigger than one photo can hold, there is more on what junk removal costs around Golden Valley to read through first. A manager who needs the number in writing can ask for it by email at bhjunk2011@gmail.com.

Where the load goes after it leaves

The pile Brandon loads out of a driveway is usually mixed, so he does not treat all of it as trash. The couch that got replaced or a dresser the last tenant left, if it is in one piece, goes to a donation center first. Metal and cardboard off the same load get recycled where it can be. What is left, the broken particleboard and the bagged trash, rides to the landfill. Brandon sorts that out after the load is on, not while the customer is standing there watching the clock. Keeping the donation items on top of the load is easier than digging for them later, so Brandon will ask which pieces still work before he starts.

What stays behind on this call

Some of what sits in a pile cannot go on the truck. Paint, solvents, thinners, and household chemicals stay, and so do pool and spa chemicals, which are household hazardous waste. Propane tanks and any other pressurized cylinder are out, down to the small camping cylinders in the garage. Motor oil, antifreeze, and fuel cans stay too, along with car batteries and anything still holding liquid. A fridge or a washer has to be disconnected from gas, water, or power before it goes. Asbestos, or anything that might contain it, needs a licensed abatement contractor instead. If something in the pile is a question mark, ask about it and he will check whether the transfer station takes it.

Hours and towns across Mohave County

Brandon works Monday to Saturday, 7 to 5, and Sunday he is closed. That matters more here than on a job booked a week out: a pile made on Sunday afternoon waits for Monday. He is based in Golden Valley, so that is the ground he knows best, and Kingman, Bullhead City, Fort Mohave, Mohave Valley, Lake Havasu City, Laughlin, and Dolan Springs are all on the list. So are the smaller spots, Valle Vista, Yucca, Chloride, Oatman, and White Hills. There is a longer list of the towns he drives to for a pile.

Questions

Questions about same-day junk removal.

How much does same-day junk removal cost?
It starts at the $250 minimum, and that is one number for the whole job. Brandon prices it from the photo.
Will Brandon come out the same day?
There is no promise of that. His hours run Monday to Saturday, 7 to 5, with Sunday closed, so the way to find out what he can fit in is to send the pile over. Text a photo to (559) 479-1199.
Does the pile have to be moved to the curb first?
No. Brandon carries it out from where it sits, including a back bedroom or the top of a staircase.
Can he take the paint cans sitting in the pile?
No. Paint, solvents, thinners, and household chemicals stay behind, and so do propane tanks and any other pressurized cylinder.
Does Brandon work with property managers on a turnover?
Yes. He will set up access with the manager so a gate is unlocked or a door is propped when he pulls in, and he gives the number for the unit the same way, from a photo.
Can he haul off a fridge that is still plugged in?
Not while it is connected. A fridge or a washer needs its gas, water, or power disconnected first, and then it can go on the truck with the rest.
